Peter is a volunteer facilitator with ARC Ministries (Associates Resourcing the Church). He has worked with Christian congregations including the United Church, Baptist, and Mennonite communities as a facilitator and a mediator. Peter is a member of Westminster United Church in Whitby, Ontario where he serves on its Ministry & Personnel Committee and has been active in various community outreach initiatives.
Peter has a passion for helping people to work better together. He is able to draw upon a career that spans over 20 years in corporate life and another 15+ years advising organizations on leading and managing change.
In his capacity as VP Consulting Services with Collins Barrow Durham, Peter has extensive experience working with clients in the broader public sector, the voluntary/community sector and with business owners. He specializes in employee relations matters including workplace conflict resolution and workplace investigations. He is an accomplished facilitator, mediator, coach and trainer.
Peter earned an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies at the University of Waterloo, and an MBA from York University. He is also a graduate of the Conflict Management and Mediation Certificate offered at Conrad Grebel University College, affiliated with the University of Waterloo.
Peter is a Qualified Mediator (Q.Med), accredited by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada, and is also an accredited member of the Human Resources Professionals Association, through which he received his CHRP designation in 1990. He teaches part-time in the Faculty of Business (Human Resources Management Program) at Durham College.
Peter’s current involvement in the community includes: President, Board of Directors of Durham Children’s Aid Society, and volunteer community mediator with Community Justice Alternatives of Durham Region. He is a former hospital trustee and has served as a director of a hospital foundation.
